Our "Sail-Able" model, providing accessible sailing for people with mobility issues

When we say simple, safe, fun and affordable sailing for everyone, we really do mean EVERYONE.

Many of the same characteristics that make Meermark trimarans perfect for beginner sailors, such as stability, comfort, lack of need for acrobatics and ease-of-use also make it ideal for disabled sailors or those less mobile than they used to be.

After interest and feedback from organisations such as Sailability, DisabledSailing.org and SailUnited we are working on some modifications to better address their users special needs to create Meermark’s “Sail-Able” models, in addition to our standard model. These modifications include:

A specially designed seat with necessary support and cushion

The ability to control the sail from either front or back seat in our 2 seater

The addition of a hand steering option

We are proud to play our small part in bringing the joy, serenity and freedom that is sailing to those to whom it means so much more than most of us will ever realise. Meermark are committed to continuing with further developments to support para sailing and increasing opportunities for disabled sailors.
